Janice
Merkel is a new addition to Arrowhead Orthopaedics
family as the Director of Arrowhead Bone Health Institute.
She has been interested in educating patients about
bone diseases particularly osteoporosis and recently
conducted lectures in Banning and Moreno Valley. Janice
was born in Northern California to Air Force parents and
grew up living in various states.
However in 1969, they moved to Southern California
where she finished her RN degree from Riverside

Community College and her BA in Psychology from
California State
University. She will be finishing her MPH in Loma Linda
School of Public Health
this December. |
Prior
to working with ABHI, she was at Arrowhead Regional Medical
Center working in OR where she mostly did orthopedic care
since 1987. Janice also did volunteer at United Way of the
East Valley Admission and Allocations committee for 5 years.
Currently, she is a volunteer at Mesa Grande Academy.
She
is looking forward to a bigger role in helping the citizens
of community learn more about the prevention and treatment
of bone diseases.
