Andrew Wong, M.D. - Shouder, Elbow, Wrist and Hand Surgery

Dr. Andrew Wong joined Arrowhead Orthopaedics in August 2009 as a Hand Surgeon. Just prior to moving to the area, he finished a Fellowship in Hand and Upper Extremity Surgery at Allegheny General hospital in Pittsburg, PA. Before his Fellowship he was graduated from college, medical school and completed an Orthopaedic Residency at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor.

Dr. Wong was born at the University Hospital in Ann Arbor, but grew up in Detroit until he returned to Ann Arbor for his post-graduate training. It was in an English class at the University that he met his future wife, Younghee. He admits that he is a “Michigan Wolverine” through and through. He and Younghee were married in 2003 and both of them look forward to living in Redlands, where they won’t have to shovel snow.

In their free time the Wongs enjoy backpacking, traveling and getting together with friends. He looks forward to continuing to learn the best way of caring for patients and to carry on the tradition of excellence of Arrowhead Orthopaedics.

James A. Foley, M.D. - Shouder, Elbow, Wrist and Hand Surgery

Dr. James Foley completed the Mary S. Stern Hand Surgery Fellowship in Cincinnati, Ohio in July of 2009. In August 2009, he and his wife, Jessica, who is working on a graduate degree in Liberal Arts at the University of Wisconsin, moved to the Inland Empire. He joined Arrowhead Orthopaedics as a Hand Surgeon and now works with residents, physician assistants and medical students at ARMC.

Foley was born in Perth, Australia but when he was eight months old, moved with his parents to Ann Arbor, MI, where his father did a Radiology Fellowship at the University of Michigan. When his father completed his residency the family returned to Australia. However, when Foley’s father was offered a position at the Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee the family moved back to the United States.

Foley grew up in Brookfield, WI, attended the University of Wisconsin, Madison and was graduated with a B.S. in Zoology and Economics. He earned his medical degree, and also did a Residency and a Fellowship in Orthopaedic Surgery at the Medical College of Wisconsin at Milwaukee.

The Foleys both look forward to being able to enjoy outdoor activities year-round in California. They like water-skiing, running, reading and watching documentary films. He looks forward to many challenging orthopaedic cases and lots of teaching opportunities.
