Orthopedic Imaging Center

Our staff of highly trained professionals is committed to providing you the best service possible. It is our mission to provide excellent diagnostic imaging in a pleasant and caring environment.

The quality of diagnostic studies performed in this facility depend upon your open communication with our staff. Please let us know your specific needs and expectation, and we always welcome your comments and questions.

This added value to patient care gives the referring physician an immediate evaluation of their patient's condition and expedites the treatment process. The end result of this process leads to better patient care and a cost savings to the patient, the referring physician and the heal plans.

Our state of the art imaging facility was designed with you, our patient, in mind. We operate in a "film-less" environment, in which your referring physician can access your exam through a secure connection online and have an instant account of your exam. Your referring physician could also receive a compact disk (CD) containing your entire exam along with a detailed report form a board certified Radiologist.

Packed in 1600 square feet of space at OIC is a powerhouse of diagnostic services that include an open Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), Computed Tomography (CT), and bone density imaging (DXA scan). MRI has become the gold standard in orthopedic imaging. With its advanced imaging techniques, MRI gives a superior evaluation of cortical bone and marrow bone compared to other modalities.

High resolution images provide unparalleled detail of the meniscus, ligaments and tendons. MRI differentiates itself from other modalities by its true multi-planar capabilities. OIC uses the Hitachi Airis II MRI scanner. This patient-friendly, award winning open design has revolutionized the imaging industry with its ability to accommodate patients that were once unable to scan due to claustrophobic anxiety or physical size.

A bone mineral density exam performed on a DXA scanner is the most sensitive and accurate measurement of osteoporosis. It is more accurate than a traditional health screen for high blood pressure or high cholesterol. Forty-four million people have or are at risk of developing osteoporosis. Half of all postmenopausal women are affected, and approximately 1.5 million fractures related to osteoporosis are reported annually.

Orthopedic Imaging Center is committed to patient education and early detection of this silent disease. Our highly trained technologist works closely with your physician to ensure a comfortable and accurate exam. As a community service, OIC has partnered with the Arrowhead Bone Health Institute to proclaim the importance of early detection. We help stage community programs and provide bone density testing at health fairs and lectures. Because osteoporosis is not a natural part of aging, we are committed to helping you detect, treat and prevent this disease.

Computed tomography, sometimes referred to as CAT scan or CT has long held a traditional role in diagnostic imaging. Ultra thin beams of x-rays produce "slices" of the human body for detection of trauma, fractures or tumors. CT scans are excellent in staging spinal surgeries by reformatting the images into 3-D displays, and are more sensitive in detecting small fractures compared to traditional x-rays. Our high speed General Electric CT/I helical scanner brings an added advantage to your referring physician.

Our mission at Orthopedic Imaging Center is to provide quality diagnostic imaging in the most timely, caring and convenient manner possible. Our friendly and compassionate staff will work closely with you and your referring physician to give you the best possible care and in a timely manner.

To schedule an MRI, a CT, or a DXA scan, please request a referral from your treating physician to OIC, or call us at (909) 557-1690.
