Christopher LeBrun, MD 
Trauma

Dr. LeBrun retired as a Colonel from the United States Air Force with over 20 years of active duty experience. During his time in the military,  Colonel (ret) LeBrun held various military assignments, from Orthopaedic Element Chief to Director of the Center for Sustainment of Trauma and Readiness Skills at the R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center at the University of Maryland.

 

He has experience operating in austere environments, including a volunteer mission to Haiti and three separate deployments in various Afghanistan locations.

Dr. LeBrun has held numerous roles to advance the orthopaedic profession on a national level. He currently serves as Chair of the Military Committee of the Orthopaedic Trauma Association, as a reviewer for the Journal of Bone and Joint Surgery, and as an associate editor for the Journal of Orthopaedic Trauma. He was selected as the military’s tri-service orthopaedic “champion” in developing the clinical readiness project for maintenance of expeditionary currency and competency. 

 

Dr. LeBrun has extensive experience with a wide variety and high volume of polytrauma cases, pelvis and acetabular fractures, and complex peri-articular fractures. He is adept at treating post-traumatic conditions such as malunions, nonunions, osteomyelitis, post-traumatic osteoarthritis, and techniques to regenerate bone.

 

Dr. Christopher LeBrun is board-certified in orthopaedic surgery and is fellowship-trained in orthopaedic trauma. He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons.

 

Dr. LeBrun is an avid outdoorsman and enjoys traveling, wakeboarding, motocross, snowboarding, golf, and spending time with his family.
