Jamie DeCoster, PA-C

Physician Assistant

Jamie De Coster, PA-C graduated from Loma Linda University’s Master of Physician Assistant Program in 2011.  Since then she has worked as a physician assistant in the specialties of general orthopedics, spine, and sports medicine.  Her love for orthopedics led her to enroll in the Orthopaedic Surgery Physician Assistant Fellowship Program offered by Arrowhead Orthopaedics at Arrowhead Regional Medical Center, a program she completed successfully in 2018 prior to her being hired by Arrowhead Orthopaedics.

Jamie’s strong interest in musculoskeletal care is rooted in her fitness orientation and in her earlier job as a physical therapy aide.  In that role she learned to enjoy her interaction with patients and seeing them return to functionality.  That thrusted her to complete enroll in a full fledge physical therapy assistant program and going on to gain board certification as a licensed PT Assistant.

When not taking care of patients in her clinic, Jamie is often found at the gym, or out running the hills. She loves high intensity interval training for a good sweat. The most recent race she ran, she placed 1st of 155 females in her age bracket, 11th overall of 838 females, and 73rd of all 1,418 runners in the race.

The most important thing in Jamie’s life is her young son who is already intrigued by the orthopedic surgery profession.  He can correctly name nearly all of his bones and likes to practice his surgical knot-tying skills.  Some day he too will follow in his mother’s footsteps helping injured people regain their functionality.
